Lamps, my first projects
This first thing I built were lamps to fill part of the large walls we have in our living room. The room is large and hard to effectivly light and difficult to decorate. The tall lamp is 8 ft tall to give you some perspective.

Building a shoji style lamp is easy. Purchasing wood from the molding section at Lowes takes the time out of milling and surfacing the wood required to build the lamp. You can also pick up craft balsa or basswood to build smaller lamps. Corner clamps are also recommended, they assist in getting the right angles square.

The large lamp is affixed to the wall by four dowels, it is easily removed for maintenance. Non laminated rice paper should be replaced yearly.
