JavaScript is a web scripting language, developed by Netscape and Sun, to provide an easy way for web authors to add interactivity into web pages. The syntax is loosely based on the Java language, though the similarities mostly end there. This page serves as an unofficial repository of information for people interested in JavaScript.
The list had moved, with different mail software, and different moderators, to Inquiry.com, but it appears to be dead there now. Sic transit gloria mundi.
Another mailing list on Javascript that appears to be active lives at NETural.com.
The JavaScript mailing list on Obscure existed from January to March of 1996. In that short time, it grew to over 1200 subscribers on the combined list and digest.
The JavaScript list is kept in a series of archives, broken down both by digest and by month. Coming soon: a hypermail archive of the list.
A New Javascript Mailing List is now available
The canonical (albiet rather sparse) JavaScript page is NetScape's JavaScript page. JavaScript newcomers may also want to check out the original JavaScript press release.
Andy Augustine maintains the JavaScript FAQ.
The Gamelan JavaScript page has links to lots of useful JavaScript material.
