Day 1 Review

These notes touch on the lesson delivered from the lesson plan Creative Computer Exploration with Scratch: Day 1, delivered on October 17, 2007.

Karen Hoofnagle helped in the classroom, as did Junior Teaching Assistant Patrick Bullington-McGuire.

When asked about what they would like to create in Scratch, the students answered:

Coco needs some reading help, work with him or pair him with someone else who can help him navigate the interface (Patrick might be able to help).

Some of the boys had some fairly violent illustrations (no surprise). When asked the question "Can we make anything?" we might suggest that it should be anything they'd be comfortable showing their parents.

We should establish and enforce a policy regarding the use of Internet searches to find outside images. That could lead to a can of worms being opened pretty easily.
