Day 1 Notes: Intermediate Scratch

These notes touch on the lesson delivered from the lesson plan Intermediate Scratch: Creative Computer Exploration: Day 1, delivered on May 7, 2008.

Alex Petrov again volunteered in the classroom.

We had one extra student who switched from another class today, I've noted it in my private class list.

The kids seemed very excited to work with the microphone headsets, but we were not able to get the Scratch board working this session. We have enough information to get them working next session, though.

Today seemed a little unfocused. The 3 groups we had wrote down minimal project plans, and did not seem to be very on-task overall.

Almost all the stations are now upgraded to Scratch 1.2.1, there are still a few that are at 1.1, we should fix that before the next class.

I am glad I revised the lesson plan to remove the camera expedition from the first day, that would have been a bit much. Doing that on Day 2 will probably work better.
