grabbing the results of a METHOD=POST

Please bear with me. I am four days new to this Java business, but I 
have a specific application I am working on.

I am trying to access a CGI script which has structured input and 
output. I have successfully bypassed the input form and sent my own 
static form to the script, but I would like to grab the data being sent 
back and manipulate the structure before it is seen by the user.

How do I grab the data as it is coming in?
