Quake II is a first person shooter in which you are a soldier on a ficticious planet, inhabited by aliens bent on the assimilation of Earth. You have been separated from you squad and it seems as if they had been viciously wiped out. The storyline isn't the greatest, but the gameplay is. As far as multiplayer games go, this is the "must have" of games. Id Software did a fantastic job coding and upgrading this wonderful game. There has been many 3rd party maps, modifications, models and skins written for the game. Mods change the way that Quake II looks and is played. Models change the structure of the player's character. Skins color the models.

• Action Quake2 - As my favorite DeathMatch mod, Action Quake2 gives Quake II an action movie prespective, where each bullet counts.
• Expert Quake - Great mod that makes Quake II a bit more fair in DeathMatches
• Eraser Bot - The Impact Development Team is home to this most famous of Quake II bots.
• JailBreak - Here is my favorite team mod. There is a red base and a blue base, each with their respective jail/prison. When a player is fragged, they are put into jail where they can be released by a teammate.
• Rocket Arena - Each map consists of multiple arenas where small teams battle for control of the arena.
