Welcome to life after the
apocalypse.
It's OK to have fun and
smile.
The nightmare vision that
Industrial music based its nihilism on is a future that is not happening. The cold war is over. The biggest obscenity the country has going
for it is its ridiculous "war on drugs" and the irresponsible
media’s constant attempt to score ratings from sensationalist propaganda rather
than factual reporting. The
music went to hell shortly after the wall fell and the eMpTV generation took
hold of it. Now they whine to copied
melodies. There are alternatives. There is still sonic innovation occurring. There are a few decent things coming out
here and there and the new tribal noise from the Power Electronics scene is
nice but the people now pushing their gear to do more than it was ever meant to
do are the producers of Psychedelic Trance.
There are positives and negatives in any scene. It is my hope that we may blend the
strengths of both as they move ever forward in the same direction to eventually
merge into one.
For those
of us who have moved on, we have a new way.
We have learned to love and play together. We embrace the hippy we once shunned. We dance
together and we celebrate this wonderful gift we have: Life. We prefer to celebrate this existence with music. We no longer run from the sun for it has
strong healing powers. We occasionally play with fire,
but are prepared for the consequences. Communing with nature
is important. Diversity
is wonderful.
See you
on the dance floor.
