I just returned from Spain where I attended a conference. I have wanted to visit Barcelona, ever since I learned about Antoni Gaudi. I was not disappointed in his work, but I also saw miles of broad avenues designed by others. Each facade strove to outdo its neighbors for intricate detail.

I also ventured by train to Granada and spent a day touring and photographing the Alhambra, a fort erected by the Moors in the middle ages and modified for use by the Christians who conquered and vanquished the Islamic armies. I do not exaggerate when I describe this place as a genuine Garden of Eden.   To that end, I've started work on a page which will present some photos and a modicum of text as to why I included them, in particular. I will be posting very few photographs because I wish to concentrate on exceptional images, rather than trying to be comprehensive and end up falling short of my goals.

I posted some new color images from Spain

I did NOT want to leave Spain that last day. You can see why
