Olive Oil and Basil Dipping for Bread

olive oil (prefer extra virgin)
2 tablespoons
basil leaves, fresh, chopped finely
1 loaf
country bread, sliced
Chop the basil into fine pieces, but be careful not to smash the pieces together into a pulp.
Slowly mix the basil into the olive oil.
Cover and set aside for at least one hour at room temperature to let the flavors meld.
Slice the bread into bite-size pieces shortly before serving to keep bread fresh and soft.
Serve.
