Hawai'i

In May 2004, I visited my friend Jeff in Hawai'i. We split the time between O'ahu (where Jeff lives) and the Big Island. I chose to visit the Big Island, rather than one or more of the other Hawai'ian islands, because my priority was to see molten lava. (But of course I really want to see all the islands. We've tentatively agreed that for my next visit we'll check out Maui and Kaua'i.)

These pictures are almost all from Big Island, and in fact mainly from Volcano National Park — basically because on the other days, when we were snorkling and kayaking, I wasn't taking pictures. Plus, live volcanos are so photogenic!
