With Halloween coming up, I have started to think about what
I am going to wear this year. Yes, I still love to get dressed up
and celebrate one of the few yearly holidays that actually means
something. Not to say that the other holidays don't mean anything,
but we celebrate completely different reasons for what they are.
For example, take Christmas, do you actually give out presents
every year because you believe in Jesus? Or have you gotten bit
by the corporate America ploy that tells you that you are supposed
to go out and give gifts to your friends to celebrate the holiday
spirit? Does that mean that you ignore them the rest of the year
and only celebrate family and friends during the holidays? Just
some food for thought there.
Now, don't get me wrong, I am not a bible thumping maniac. In fact,
I am exactly the opposite. I have my own beliefs, they are entirely
my own and I don't force them on anyone else. I expect everyone
else to do the same for me. I just don't get why so many people
are willing to put themselves behind a religious ideal and then
turn right back around and try and say that it is not religious.
Anyway, enough of my babbling. I am going off in search of a costume.
