My Geek & Goth Codes, Myers-Briggs results, Purity Test Scores, etc.

Myers-Briggs Personality Type (MBTI): INTP (offline), ENTP (online).
(For more information on the MBTI types, and the Keirsey Temperament Sorter which figures out your MBTI type, see http://www.keirsey.com/cgi-bin/keirsey/newkts.cgi.)

I'm on the cusp between INTP (informative engineers, designers, architects), ENTP (directive engineers, inventors, setters of new standards), INFP (informative mediators, tutors, monastics), and ENFP (directive mediators, advocates, heralds). This is rather curious since at least 3 of these 4 personality types are found in 1-3% or less of the general population! The N (iNtuition, vs. Sensation) and P (Perceiving, vs. Judging) traits seem fairly fixed in me, though not wildly extreme. I just do not have an artisan/improvisor/expeditor or protector/monitor/conservator nature at all. The I & E (Introverted vs. Extroverted) traits are different when I answer the questions in the test while thinking about my offline personal life (I) or my online professional life (E). Given that much of my introverted nature is a result of having had a (now much improved) speech problem since I was 5 or so, and that "on the Internet, no one can hear you stutter" this is not so surprising. However, my T & F (Thinking vs. Feeling) index seems to be in flux. I have been consistently T for some time but may be shifting toward F -- I seem to be becoming an idealist rather than a rational. This seems to make sense to me, as in my personal life I am getting more involved in pleasure and relating and communication, away from privacy, contemplation and keeping myself busy, while in my career, I am shifting from technical computer work to advocacy and coalitional work.

Interpretations: http://sunsite.unc.edu/pub/academic/psychology/alt.psychology.personality/profiles/ for more day-to-day life application (look for each INTP, etc. code in the file list); http://keirsey.com/matrix.html for more grand-scheme, political applications (look in Rationals and Idealists for my categories) When reading interpretations to get a sense of who I am, know that I am mostly INTP, then ENTP, INFP & ENFP in descending order (though traits of each are in some cases very strong in me).

Goth Test Version 2.0 score: 56.7%
(probably would have been gothier, but the questions are very London-biased, and female-slanted. Ah well. It's silly anyway. See http://www.omen.net.au/~synic/goth/arc/gothtest20.html for the test.)

100-Question Purity Test (1.0) Score: 30% (as of Oct. 2001), down from 32% (as of Sept. 1998), down from 41% (as of Sept. 1997) (See http://www.iglou.com/sek/purity/purity.100c.txt for this version of the test.)

400-Question Purity Test (3.5a) Score: 33.75% (as of Oct. 2001), down from 35.25% (as of Sept. 1998), down from 45.85% (as of Sept. 1997)
(See http://www.iglou.com/sek/purity/purity.400a.txt for this version of the test.)

500-Question Purity Test (4.0) Score: ?? (as of Sept. 1998)
(See http://www.iglou.com/sek/purity/purity.500.txt for this version of the test, which I've been too busy being impure to bother to take. >;-)

1000-Question Purity Test (5.2) Score: ?? (as of Sept. 1998)
(See http://www.iglou.com/sek/purity/purity.1000c.txt for this version of the test, which, again, I've been too busy being impure to bother to take. >;-)

Weirdness Purity Test Score: 19% (which is amazing, given the questions...)
(See http://www.velvet.net/~ratty/weirdtest.html for this test.)

alt.polyamory Purity Test Score: 67%
(See http://www.bayview.com/~enigma/alt.poly.test.html for this test. I kind of cheated in that I answered the questions as if they also applied to polyamory mailing lists as well as the newsgroup, since there's almost no practical difference between them, and I read mailing lists more than Usenet news.)

Industriale Test (beta vers.) Score: 51.1%
(This test isn't yet generally available. Ask Xaotika <xaotika@antisocial.com> for a copy if you want it. It's kind of a short industrial music scene "purity test", with fairly amusing questions.)

78% Slut! And in the same vein, I'm apparently 78% slut according to The Spark's Slut Test (up from 75% 2 years ago)

(this one's a web form you fill out. Very amusing. It's here:
http://test.thespark.com/sluttest/slut.cgi
If you're male you just a) switch all the genders, b) swap "Have you ever slept with a woman who was on the pill?" in place of "Have you ever been on the pill?", c) swap "Upper body" for "Boobs" in the "What part of your body do you like least?" question, and d) substitute "What famous sexy man do you wish you could be for a day?" for "What famous sexy man do you wish you could sleep with?" (unless you're gay/bi; or for fun, you can put in a famous hot woman's name and see how many bi women answered the same).

If you think this is fun, also check out the Cat Code at http://www.microserve.net/~dave/catcodes.html. I don't have a cat at present, so I've not posted a cat code. Given that I will soon get me a new beastie, maybe I will post one for him/her/it. Anyway, the Goth.Code index page at http://www.omen.com.au/~synic/code/index.html has a neat little form-based code finder if you want to see other codes (gay/lesbian codes, Lego code, and so on.)
